- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1800-$1890/week
- Location: Springfield, OH 45504 — Springfield, Ohio nursing job / travel nurse opportunity
- Setting: 30-bed Stepdown/PCU (neuro/neurosurgical, cardiac, renal, med/surg)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 3/9/2026 – End: 6/6/2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights, every other weekend and every other holiday
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract RN (Travel Nursing / Contract Nursing)
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- Active RN license in Ohio or an active compact RN license (required)
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience (required); acute care and stepdown/PCU experience preferred
- 6 months of acute care hospital experience (preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred; must obtain if not current
- Dysrhythmia Exam required (study guide available)
- Neuro experience preferred; experience with cardiac, renal, and med/surg patient populations a plus
- Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and ability to work independently on night shift
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care for stepdown/PCU patients
- Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately; manage IV infusions and drips per protocol
- Monitor and manage patients with stable arrhythmias, post-pacemaker care, post-cath monitoring (without intervention), chronic renal failure management, and stable tracheostomies
- Administer and monitor Heparin drips, IV blood pressure medications, and oxygen therapies (including BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow up to 6L)
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team (physicians, respiratory therapy, case management, social work) to coordinate and direct patient care
- Serve as a patient advocate and safety champion, participating in ongoing quality improvement and clinical best practices
- Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and health management
- Respond confidently and adapt to rapidly changing patient conditions in a progressive care / critical care-adjacent environment
- Maintain professionalism, compassion, and effective communication at all times
