Responsibilities- Deliver exceptional nursing care as an Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN).
- Utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status and determine the priority of the patient’s problems and needs.
- Implement clinical nursing interventions for acute, critical patients requiring intensive medical care.
- Develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment in the OR and coordinate the needs of the surgical team with other care providers.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team; provide pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care, including assessment and discharge instructions.
- Observe the surgery and surgical team from a broad perspective to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the patient.
- Graduate of an accredited Associate degree or Bachelor degree in Nursing
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- BLS, ACLS or PALS (preferred at hire; must obtain from an approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS and/or PALS may be required within 6 months based on department requirements)
- CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) – preferred, not required
- SGNA (Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates) – preferred, not required
- Two years of RN experience in a Critical Care Department (preferred, not required)
- Completion of OR internship program (preferred, not required)
- Successful completion of Peri-op 101 (preferred, not required)
