Exciting Opportunity for Cardiothoracic/Vascular Surgeons:
Locum Physician Position in Springfield, OH

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general CV/Thoracic/Vascular surgeries, including coronary artery bypass, valvular repairs/replacements, aneurysm repairs, and lung resections (including VATs).
• Manage congenital defects, chest wall/pleural procedures, esophagus/diaphragm surgeries, endarterectomies (carotid & renal), and ventilation management.
• Conduct diagnostic bronchoscopy and oversee the evaluation and management of acute volume and blood pressure issues.
• Cover 24-hour shifts, ensuring continuous patient care in a full-service 250-bed hospital with 60 ICU beds, equipped with onsite labs and x-ray, utilizing the EPIC documentation system.

Required Skills:

• Proven proficiency in general cardiovascular/Thoracic/Vascular surgical procedures.
• Extensive experience with complex surgeries such as bypass, valve repairs, aneurysm repair, and lung resection.
• Ability to manage ventilation and perform bronchoscopies.
• Strong clinical judgment with the capability to assess and manage acute patient needs.

Nice to Have

Skills:

• Experience with minimally invasive procedures like VATs.
• Prior exposure to hospital-based surgical practice environments.
• Excellent team collaboration and communication skills.

Preferred

Education and Experience:

• Medical degree from an accredited institution.
• Board certification or eligibility in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
• Prior locum or hospital-based surgical experience preferred, with demonstrated expertise in the specified procedures.

Other Requirements:

• Valid medical license and certifications as required in Ohio.
• Ability to work on-call shifts, including 24-hour coverage.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care during all hours.
• Willingness to adhere to hospital protocols and documentation standards.
