The Transportation Analyst - Inbound supports daily transportation operations through data analysis and Transportation Management System (TMS) support. This role helps monitor freight performance, resolve issues, and identify opportunities to improve service and reduce transportation costs.
Essential Job Functions- Analyze transportation data and develop daily performance reporting and KPIs
- Assist with Inbound/Outbound TMS setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting (rates, tenders, carriers, optimization)
- Support carrier performance tracking and compliance reporting
- Help identify cost‑save and process improvement opportunities
- Partner with IT, Finance, and Operations on issue resolutions
- Support Freight Audit and Pay program
- Support transportation procurement and RFP exercises
- Develop internal and external partnerships related to O’Reilly’s transportation network
- Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of the Network Optimization Strategy
Required
- BS or AS degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Business Analytics, or related field preferred
- 2–4+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations analysis
- Experience with Manhattan ATM (TMS) preferred, or other enterprise‑level TMS
- MS Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and working with large data sets
- Working knowledge/exposure to DOMO, Snowflake, SCI, VBA
- Basic SQL knowledge
- Working knowledge of transportation and supply chain systems (TMS, OMS, and WMS)
- Strong understanding of domestic transportation modes, including FTL, LTL, parcel and 3PL operations
- Ability to review carrier and lane data to identify service issues, cost opportunities, and process improvements
- Self‑motivated, able to multi‑task and prioritize tasks
- Ability to support and contribute to the O’Reilly Culture Values
