Overview

First Student is a leading provider of student transportation services across the United States. We are looking for a Part‑time School Bus Driver to serve the community of Dekalb, MO.

Responsibilities

As a Part‑time School Bus Driver you will:

  • Operate a school bus on a split shift – an early morning before‑school pickup and an after‑school drop‑off with free hours in between.
  • Provide safe transportation for students, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Carry out scheduled routes during the school year, with opportunities for additional hours through trips and charters.
Benefits
  • $21 per hour starting wage, based on experience.
  • $750 bonus if the CLP is presented within 7 days of completing the Virtual CLP class. (Bonus expires 11/30/25)
  • $250 bonus if the CLP is presented within 14 days of completing the Virtual CLP class.
  • Medical, dental and vision benefits plus 401(k) retirement savings plan (benefits may vary by location or CBA).
  • No experience necessary – paid CDL training is provided.
  • Child‑Ride‑Along Program for parents.
Qualifications
  • No college degree or high school diploma required.
  • Military experience is encouraged.
  • Returning to workforce, seeking second job, or retiree.
  • Looking to start a new career.
Fit

  • 21 years or older.
  • Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years.

DOT drug testing is required for this safety‑sensitive position. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
