Overview

A position in the Missouri National Guard Facilities Division is more than a job, it's a calling. Our maintenance personnel support soldiers that protect and aid Missourians citizens.

Job Location: This position will be located at MO AVCRAD, Springfield, MO.

Responsibilities
  • This is advanced technical work in specialized aircraft maintenance for the Office of the Adjutant General at Missouri Aviation Classification Repair Activity Depot (MO-AVCRAD). An employee in this class is responsible for specialized and highly complex repair, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of aircraft equipment, components, and assemblies. Work may also involve inspecting, repairing, and certifying the work of other employees at MO-AVCRAD.

    Employees are expected to perform highly skilled technical work with very limited technical oversight.
  • Perform required painting, phase inspections, scheduled OCM (On Condition Maintenance) or R&R (Repair and Return) of assigned aircraft or components. Utilize technical manuals, engineering instructions, and other guidelines to perform the full range of aircraft maintenance duties such as inspections, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, fabrication, painting, and repair. Conduct ground testing of assemblies, systems, and surfaces for one or more types of aircraft.

    Perform in-flight systems checks, adjustments, and Aircraft Corrosion Control (ACC) procedures to include induction of aircraft into the system.
  • Research and assist with procurement of components, tools and related equipment through the Federal Logistics Catalog (FEDLOG), and other authorized government vendors. Log, order, and maintain bench stock parts and material for aircraft repairs and services. Possess a thorough working knowledge of Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (AGSE).
  • Attend training and/or receive on-the-job training as required to successfully perform and complete tasks associated with aircraft. Serve, as requested, on Maintenance Assistance and Instruction Teams and contact teams to support activities.
  • Review aircraft and component historical records for accuracy, and thereafter, maintaining necessary receipts, records, or licenses, both written and electronic, of assigned aircraft or parts.
  • Support the shop safety program by maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work area, and notify immediate supervisor of safety violations or careless acts.
  • Package and handle hazardous materials and identify and dispose of hazardous waste; capability to establish and maintain effective workplace relationships with others; performs such travel as necessary in accomplishment of assigned duties, and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Utilize technical manuals, engineering instructions, and other guidelines to perform the full range of aircraft maintenance duties such as inspections, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, fabrication, painting, and repair.
  • Work frequently involves teamwork and is performed in coordination with federal and/or military employees.
  • Employees may be required to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions working from ground, ladders, scaffolds and platforms. Frequently lift parts and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds. Occasionally lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds or more. Must be capable of operating equipment that requires manual dexterity. Work in areas where hydraulic fluids, oils, fuel, and lubricants are used and fumes are usually present.
  • Requires the use of personal protective equipment such as, but not limited to, respiratory devices, coveralls, gloves, safety shoes, and proper eye protection, as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of experience as an Aircraft Mechanic and possession of a high school diploma or a GED certificate OR four (4) years of technical experience in the specialized maintenance and repair of aircraft components and equipment, two of which must have been specialized aircraft maintenance and repair.
  • This position requires acquiring and/or maintaining a Tl investigation clearance eligibility.
