Seasonal Pool Inspector

The Springfield‑Greene County Health Department is seeking qualified applicants for this position.

Position will work 40 hours a week for a maximum of 6 months – during pool season

In this position the individual will perform monitoring of public and semi‑public pools and spas for compliance with local codes. Conduct routine inspections, re‑inspections, and complaint investigations of water chemistry and clarity to determine compliance.

Experience, Education, and Training

PREFERRED

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the physical or natural sciences

AND

  • Completion of at least 15 college credit hours of combined Math and Science
  • Working knowledge of testing pool chemistry for pH and disinfectant levels can be substituted for directly related work experience
Licensing/Certification
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • National Swimming Pool Foundation, Certified Pool & Spa Inspector Certification may be obtained within first 14 days of employment
