NRA Museum Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Assistant General Manager, gives daily direction to the associates in the NRA Sporting Arms Museum and Archery Hall of Fame, to include: presentation, maintenance, cleaning, and customer service activities.

• Supports the AGM and NRA requests regarding assets and artifacts including shipping, receiving, presentation, customer count, signing, and cleaning.
• Provides daily direction to the associates within the Department.
• Communicates with NRA staff to ensure museum standards are upheld and direction is followed. All written communication will include the AGM. Supports Archery Hall of Fame and fills in when needed as a contact for the Archery Hall of Fame’s Board of Directors.
• Provides feedback to AGM and Facilities Maintenance as often as required for all maintenance needs including, but not limited to housekeeping, repairs and museum preservation.
• Supports a strong commitment to world class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive experience for all museum guests.
• Assists the AGM and gives input on the preparation of performance appraisals; motivates associates to promote positive customer relations and a productive team-oriented work environment.
• Resolves customer and associate opportunities with the assistance of the AGM and HR Manager as required.
• Assists the AGM with coordination of all “Special Events” or projects as assigned. This includes, but not limited to, tours, visits from NRA staff, and/ or approved promotional activities.
• Assists the AGM in carrying out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws, including: training; planning; assigning and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems; maintaining a positive, harassment free working environment for all associates.
• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

• 2-4 years in Retail Sales / Supervision experience is a plus

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions and percentages.
• Ability to read and analyze certain reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Managers, associates, customers, partner agencies and the general public in both verbal and written formats. Ability to conduct meetings and presentations to groups.
• Proficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, data based management and electronic point of sale and inventory management systems.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, associates, customers, partner agencies and with Basecamp Staff.
