Join the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium as a Full-Time Life Support Systems Technician in Springfield, MO, where every day brings new challenges in maintaining our innovative aquatic environments. Be at the forefront of conservation and educational initiatives while working onsite to ensure our life support systems operate seamlessly. Salary is $18 - $20 per hour.
Responsibilities- Monitor and maintain the essential life support systems for our diverse aquatic environments.
- Conduct routine inspections of filtration systems, perform water quality testing, and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure optimal conditions for both marine life and visitor experiences.
- Clean and maintain equipment, document system performance, and participate in preventive maintenance schedules.
- Engage with other departments to facilitate conservation efforts and contribute to an overall high-performance culture.
- Solid understanding of aquatic ecosystems and water chemistry.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Attention to detail for monitoring equipment and conducting precise water quality tests.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and other departments.
- Proactive mindset, adaptability, and the ability to think critically and work independently.
