Provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff. Perform duties such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, changing linens, and other duties as assigned. Obtain information on patient condition as requested by the nursing staff, and report any changes in patient condition.

200 Medical-Surgical is a 30-bed unit serving patients admitted from the Emergency Department, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit, Critical Care Units, and physician offices. The unit cares for a broad age range and provides diverse clinical experiences. It specializes in medical, surgical, and gynecologic/oncology care. Common procedures include hysterectomies, mastectomies, bowel resections, and various oncology surgeries. Telemetry monitoring and oxygen support may be required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration
BLS must be obtained within 90 days
Nurse Assistant Trainees are eligible to apply. The Nurse Assistant Training Program provides classroom and clinical learning to obtain training as unlicensed assistive personnel. Duties in the clinical setting include basic patient care under supervision, taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, changing linens, and reporting changes in patient condition. A competency assessment is administered at the end of training to validate learning.
