Overview of Unit/Department4W Med-Surg Cardiac is a fast-paced, stimulating environment for nurses who love to use their critical thinking and prioritization skills. The unit handles telemetry monitoring, respiratory support and heart failure measures with a diverse, complex patient population. We encourage growth and teamwork.
Responsibilities- The Cardiology Nurse is responsible for managing the care of adult or geriatric patients experiencing acute, chronic, and/or terminal cardiovascular diseases, comorbid medical conditions, and associated procedures.
- Assess patient condition, administer medications and monitor patient response.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry; provide patient and family education and support.

The Cardiology Nurse is responsible for managing the care of the adult or geriatric patient experiencing acute, chronic, and/or terminal cardiovascular diseases, comorbid medical conditions, and associated procedures. The nurse must assess patient condition, administer medications and monitor patient response, monitor and interpret telemetry, and provide patients and families with support and education.
Job Requirements Education- Required:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program - Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Preferred:
Previous nursing experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
- Exhibits valuable time management skill
- Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills
- Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment
- Required:
RN license active in the state of Missouri - Required:
BLS must be obtained within 90 days - Required:
Must obtain ACLS within one year of hire
