- Leading the day‑to‑day operations of a production shift at 3M Springfield, providing direct supervision to production employees such as Operators, Lead Operators, and Trainers.
- Implementing and managing daily improvements to meet business Safety, Quality, Service and Cost Goals.
- Determining priorities and assigning responsibility to meet customer needs in a safe manner.
- Creating an atmosphere of fairness, employee engagement and accountability.
- Developing the crew personnel to prepare them for future career opportunities or additional responsibilities.
- Being flexible to work any shift.
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
- Two (2) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
- One (1) year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
- Experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: chemical operations, extrusion, coating or converting.
- Experience using Lean Manufacturing tools.
- Experience with shipping, receiving and warehouse operations.
- Flexibility to work any shift.
May include up to 10% domestic travel.

The expected compensation range for this position is $84,595 - $103,394, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
