Job Summary

As a Stainless Grinder, you’ll be responsible for grinding, blending, and finishing stainless steel parts to meet production and quality standards. You’ll work closely with welders and fabricators to ensure that products are properly prepped and finished for final assembly, packaging, or shipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grind and finish stainless steel parts using hand tools, grinders, and other equipment.
  • Remove weld spatter, polish welds, and prep material surfaces to a clean, uniform finish.
  • Follow detailed instructions, blueprints, or shop drawings to meet specifications.
  • Work with other team members to ensure smooth flow of materials through production.
  • Inspect finished work pieces for conformance to specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety procedures and wearing proper PPE.
  • Assist in other fabrication or prep duties as needed.
Requirements
  • Experience in grinding, polishing, or finishing stainless steel (preferred but not required – willing to train the right candidate).
  • Ability to use angle grinders, orbital sanders, and other hand tools.
  • Basic understanding of welding processes and metal finishing techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction in a fast‑paced shop environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a metal fabrication or welding shop.
  • Familiarity with stainless steel polishing techniques (e.g., brushed, mirror finish).
  • Knowledge of fabrication safety standards and material handling procedures.
