Working hours:
approximately 40 hours per week. Branch schedule:
Monday–Thursday 8:30‑9:00, Friday 8:30‑8:00, Saturday 8:30‑7:00, Sunday 10:00‑6:00.

Position SummaryThe Reference Manager oversees reference services and resources. This role involves managing a team of reference librarians/associates, conducting user needs assessments, and coordinating the development of reference collections and tools. The Reference Manager ensures that patrons receive high‑quality research assistance, instruction on information literacy, and access to a wide range of print and electronic resources. They also evaluate effectiveness, implement new technologies, and stay abreast of emerging trends.
EssentialFunctions
- Assume responsibility for daily operations of the Reference Department.
- Act as PIC (Person In Charge) – serve as acting building manager for safety and security matters as required.
- Perform reference duties and keep abreast with changes and developments in library services, with emphasis on reference and online services and resources.
- Public speaking to community groups.
- Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS or MLIS) from an ALA‑accredited institution.
- At least 16 years of age.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the United States.
- Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
