Bruce Galloway Law, LLC, a well-established family law firm, is seeking an organized, articulate, and detail-orientedLegal Assistantto join our growing team. This is a great opportunity for an entry-level legal student or motivated legal professional to make a meaningful impact at a small, collaborative firm that values precision, compassion, and communication.

This role involves providing essential support to office staff and attorneys via effective case file management, professional communication, and administrative support.

Responsibilities:

  • Keep up-to-date with eFiling notices and convey eNotices to clients and staff in a timely manner
  • Calendar and monitor deadlines for discovery, hearings, and trials
  • Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and easily accessible
  • Help coordinate discovery and other outstanding documentation with clients
  • Demonstrate discretion with highly confidential information
  • Schedule appointments with leads, clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in the legal process
  • Transcribe audio recordings and meeting notes
  • Draft and file simple pleadings
  • Assist staff in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions
  • Accurately track and enter billable time on a contemporaneous basis
  • Utilize templates and AI effectively for document generation

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working in a similar legal role (family law preferred)
  • Knowledge of phone etiquette and professional communication
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and pleading structure
  • Strong reading comprehension skills for accurately interpreting legal documents, correspondence, and court filings
  • Excellent written communication skills, producing clear, concise, and well-organized legal materials and drafts
  • Quick learner who can adapt to new areas of law, procedures, and legal software with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable and professional when receiving direct, solution-focused feedback
  • Organized and efficient, capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced legal environment

Hours :
Full-time, 40 hr/wk, 8am - 5pm or Part-time, 20 - 32 hr/wk, hours flexible (for students)
