L2 Application Support Engineer – WebSphere Commerce; WCS .x

We are looking for an experienced L2 Application Support Engineer to support a mission-critical Web Sphere Commerce Suite (WCS) 8.x e-commerce platform. This role focuses on production support, incident response, monitoring, and performance optimization in a high-availability environment.

Experience

6–8+ years overall experience in Application Support / SRE

Strong background in IBM Web Sphere Commerce

Hands-on Web Commerce Application Support experience is required

Required Skills

• 3–5 years in application or technical support roles
• 2+ years hands-on with Web Sphere Commerce Suite (WCS) 8.x or similar e-commerce platforms
• Experience with DB2, Oracle, or SQL Server and basic SQL skills
• Working knowledge of Linux/Unix and command-line operations
• Understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, load balancers, and web servers
• Experience with monitoring tools such as App Dynamics, Dynatrace, or similar APM solutions

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to production incidents within SLA
• Troubleshoot order processing, payment gateway, checkout, and session-related issues
• Investigate catalog, inventory sync, and cache-related problems
• Monitor application performance, batch jobs, and scheduled processes
• Perform service restarts, recovery procedures, and proactive health checks
• Support incident, problem, and change management processes (ITIL)
• Work in a 24x7 shift-based support environment
