Overview
The Springfield-Greene County Health Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Health Educator
.
The Health Educator position will work within the Family Connects program and will establish and nurture relationships, partnerships, and coalitions with community resources and services that provide support to families with newborns. In addition, this position will market Family Connects by communicating with referral sources, community groups, and potential clients to increase participation in Family Connects. This position is responsible in organizing and leading a community advisory board for Family Connects.
Position will solicit feedback from home visitors and supervisors regarding unmet needs in the community and, with the team, plan toward closing those gaps as possible.
The Health Educator will also lead the marketing and public relations efforts of the Family Connects program as well as participate in establishing and maintaining communication between community resources, physicians, nursing personnel and other health-care professionals regarding program objectives, policies, and procedures.

Experience, Education, and Training- Requires graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Education or Health Promotion or related field;
- Three years of professional education, health promotion or communication experience;
- Graduate level coursework in health education, health promotion, public health education or other related public health experience may be substituted for up to one year of the experience requirement.
PREFERRED
- Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or Masters in Public Health.
