Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and AquariumJohnny Morris’ Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium is the largest, most-immersive fish and wildlife attraction in the world. The facility consists of a 1.5-million-gallon Aquarium Adventure showcasing 35,000 live fish, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and birds, and immersive Wildlife Galleries sharing the story of America’s most significant conservationists throughout history and today.
Senior Accountant and AnalystEssential Functions:
- Timely completion of assigned general ledger account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Financial statement preparation and review.
- Interim operational and KPI report preparation.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Assists with audit schedule preparation.
- Utilize financial software and other tools, such as Power
BI and advanced Excel skills to streamline accounting processes and improve reporting capabilities. - Cross-train as back-up support for the functions normally provided by fellow staff members.
- Assist the finance department with additional duties and special projects as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities,
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related degree, CPA or equivalent preferred.
- Three to six years of prior related experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment, with a focus on financial analysis.
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Relational data modeling experience using Power Query, Power Pivot, and/or Power BI skills preferred.
- Proficient with accounting software, MS Office, and other information systems.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex financial data.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
- Keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
