Creative Design / Digital Art, Architect / Sr. Architect, Interior Design
Nistenhaus Workspace is hiring a licensed Missouri architect to step into a leadership role within our growing multidisciplinary studio. We work across architecture, interiors, and full turnkey delivery — from concept through construction administration, furnishings, and final photo-ready completion. Projects range from $500K renovations to $4M+ custom residences, with expansion into higher-end residential and boutique commercial work.
We are not looking for a drafter. We are not looking for a lone designer. We are looking for someone who can drive process, elevate execution, and lead projects from start to finish.
About the RoleYou will:
- Lead residential architecture projects from concept through construction administration
- Produce and oversee detailed construction documentation (AutoCAD required)
- Model and develop projects in Sketch Up (Enscape proficiency strongly preferred)
- Coordinate consultants, trades, and internal team members
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and CRM workflows (Materio)
- Mentor junior staff and elevate team output
- Communicate directly with clients and help move projects decisively forward
Revit experience is valuable but not required. Our current workflow prioritizes Sketch Up + Enscape + AutoCAD for precision and flexibility.
ResponsibilitiesWhat We Need Solved Immediately:
- Process discipline. We need someone who understands how to:
- Take a project from concept to buildable documentation without circling
- Enforce standards and improve them
- Close loops instead of leaving them open
- Keep projects moving toward completion
- Hold themselves and others accountable
If you have experience bringing order to creative environments, this role will suit you.
QualificationsYou are:
- A licensed architect in Missouri (non-negotiable)
- Strong in construction detailing and building systems
- Comfortable navigating both historic renovation and modern design
- Capable of leading projects independently
- Interested in mentoring junior team members
- Motivated by building something long-term, not hiding inside a large firm
You understand that leadership in a small firm means ownership, not hierarchy.
We are a team of under 10, growing intentionally. We are collaborative. We are multidisciplinary. We work directly with clients and trades. This role is primarily in-office, with potential flexibility after the first six months once responsibilities and trust are clearly established. We operate on a 40-hour work week. We value high standards, not burnout.
Pay range and compensation packageSalary range: $85,000–$110,000, based on experience and leadership capability
- 401(k) options
- Health insurance options
- Paid time off
- Leadership growth as the firm expands
- Top-end compensation reflects demonstrated ability to manage team performance and elevate project profitability.
- You understand and improve our process
- You are leading active projects confidently
- You are billable and contributing meaningfully to revenue
- Projects move forward with less friction
