Position Overview

People Centric is hiring a Business Development Specialist to drive revenue growth by bringing in new clients across recurring partnerships, consulting projects, training, workshops, and assessments.

What you’ll do
  • Proactively prospect and network with target prospects (no waiting for inbound)
  • Run discovery/needs analysis with executive‑level buyers
  • Research and identify potential clients in target industries and markets
  • Engage in networking events, associations, and community opportunities to build brand visibility
  • Create and present clear, tailored proposals aligned with our service offerings and pricing
  • Negotiate and close contracts while protecting profitability
  • Track and report all sales activities weekly, maintaining an up‑to‑date pipeline in Hub Spot
  • Keep a clean pipeline and forecast in Hub Spot and report weekly
  • Partner closely with internal teams (CEO, leadership, internal stakeholders) for smooth handoffs
  • Follow up with former and prospective clients to re‑engage and explore new opportunities
  • Develop strong, trust‑based relationships with prospective clients
  • Serve as a key representative of People Centric publicly at local and national levels, including networking events, industry conferences, and strategic events
Your fit
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management (B2B preferred)
  • Strong networking and relationship‑building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities at once
  • Proficient with CRM systems, preferably Hub Spot
  • Self‑motivated, goal‑oriented, and able to work independently
  • Collaborative within a team
  • Confident, relational, and results‑driven
  • Can talk ROI and outcomes with execs (including CFO‑types)
  • Can communicate clearly and follow up relentlessly
  • Live in a CRM (Hub Spot preferred) and know your pipeline math
  • Have proven B2B sales/business development success (services a big plus)
Reporting & Forecasting
  • Maintain up‑to‑date records of pipelines, opportunities, and closed deals in Hub Spot
  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, pipeline health, and conversion rates
  • Collaborate with leadership to refine business development strategies
