Overview

DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT-PART-TIME New Covenant Academy is a Christian school dedicated to academic excellence, Biblical truth, and Christlike character, and is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Part-time, 12-month Development Assistant with immediate placement. The schedule is 20 hrs. a week, daily, with some flexibility on how the hrs are spread out within the week. The job location is at the Elementary/High School location—Warrior Campus at 3304 S.

Cox Rd., Springfield, MO.

Job Function

The Development Assistant provides administrative support to the Development Director in the following areas:

  • Maintain donor software and family database by entering new and updated customer and account information
  • Manage all campaigns and projects within the donor database
  • Enter new pledges received and write off any inactive pledges in the donor database
  • Oversee all donations and business sponsor ships as received through cash, check, stock, or online giving
  • Enter donations and business sponsor ships and adjust pledges accordingly in the donor database
  • Assist with social media and special events as needed
  • Prepare deposit slips as needed and bring deposits to the bank
  • Enter the daily campaign and/or project totals of these transactions in FE
  • Enter all pledges and pledge activity in FE
  • Send out thank you letters to donors and sponsors (includes writing, obtaining the Development Director’s signature, merging, printing, and mailing)
  • Prepare all database merges for development campaigns and promotional mailings
  • Run reports as needed for both the development office and business office
  • Make phone calls for the development office
  • Performs any duties as assigned by the Development Director

Knowledge/Qualifications,

Skills and Abilities
  • High School Diploma with office experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (emphasis on Excel) & Google Workspace or other computer software programs
  • Secretarial or comparable office experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, organizational, and communication skills
  • High level of personal initiative while maintaining a strong emphasis on detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
  • Ability to work and contribute to a team environment
  • Maintains and protects operations by keeping information confidential

Physical Requirements
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires the employee to sit in front of a computer for prolonged periods of time; it may require some moving, lifting, carrying, pulling or pushing, stooping, bending, and reaching for objects and materials. Requires the ability to use near visual acuity to read printed materials.

    Requires auditory ability to carry on conversations in person and over the phone. Requires sustained repetitive motions and manual and finger dexterity to write, operate a computer, keyboard, and other office equipment. Must be able to work in occasionally stressful situations. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
