Position Title: Accountant
Wage: $60,000-$70,000/year
Shift: 1st
Hours: 8am-5pm

AccountantResponsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries and recurring adjustments, using Sage 2013
- Perform daily bank reconciliations, verify account balances, and maintain outstanding check schedules
- Prepare and update daily net profit reports, sales audit sheets, and inventory trackers in Excel
- Support month‑end close activities, including reconciliations and journal entries
- Assist with monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
- Manage monthly and quarterly 50‑state sales tax filings through Avalara, including committing returns and taxes; reviewing, reconciling, and booking Avalara fees and invoices; researching and resolving notices, exemptions, and filing questions
- Review and book invoices from major vendors with proper allocation to COGS
- Reconcile and record monthly fees from payment processors and services, including Braintree, Breadpay, eBay, Pay Pal, Easy Post, , and USPS
- Perform daily checks on credit card rewards, guarantee accounts, and third‑party collections balances
- Prepare borrowing base workups, tax ties, workers' compensation entries, and ad hoc financial reports
- Process payroll‑related journal entries, deposit claims checks, and track vendor promotional programs
- Assist with credit applications, recurring journal entries, and cost margin table updates
- Collaborate closely with leadership to provide timely and accurate financial information
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and hands‑on experience (e.g., 4+ years in an accounting role)
- 2+ years of accounting experience with similar responsibilities
- Experience supporting month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Strong sense of ownership and ability to work independently with minimal daily direction
- Advanced Excel skills required, including XLOOKUP/INDEX‑MATCH, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS; pivot tables (building and troubleshooting); nested formulas, error handling, and data validation; reconciling large datasets (bank activity, processor fees, vendor invoices); building durable, repeatable templates and reporting tools
- Power Query experience required or strongly preferred, including importing, cleaning, merging, appending, and refreshing data
- Experience with accounting software;
Sage (especially legacy versions) strongly preferred - Working knowledge of multi‑state (50‑state) sales tax compliance and tools such as Avalara
- High attention to detail in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Clear, professional communication skills for vendor interactions and internal reporting
- Comfortable working on‑site in a collaborative office setting
- Preferred skills include Power Pivot, basic SQL, or VBA/macros
