Monitor, OCC Community Justice Support Center
Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Lead Monitor, OCC CJSC
Job Summary: The Monitor is responsible and accountable for monitoring Center participants and maintaining a safe and secure environment. S/he ensures that participants enter and exit the Center appropriately, remain in assigned areas, and completes monitoring and collection of urine drug screens. The Monitor reflects and displays the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Job Function:
- Supervise and monitor participants in all phases of daily routines, including break periods.
- Monitor all educational and clinical classes/groups.
- Take accurate attendance of all participants.
- Maintain accurate communication log entries.
- Collect and document urine drug screens.
- Write incident reports as needed and communicate concerns to program management.
- Provide transportation in assigned program vehicle when required.
- Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and trainings as directed.
- Prevent crisis situations from escalating by intervening and counseling participants.
- Provide support and assistance in any crisis situation.
- Maintain work schedule as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed by supervisor(s).
Supervision of Personnel: None
Fiscal Responsibility: Adhere to all fiscal policies and procedures such as petty cash, purchase orders, vouchers and employee expenses as requested.
Facility/Housekeeping Responsibility: Ensure the highest level of cleanliness by cleaning and/or inspecting areas of responsibility.
Interdivisional / Community / Volunteer Responsibility:
- Attend all assigned meetings.
- Actively participate in the Y’s annual campaign.

Education / Experience /
Physical Requirements:
- Associates degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ experience working in the criminal justice field.
- Must be able to work one evening per week and some weekends; must cover additional shifts as needed.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have visual and auditory acuity to maintain security of the center.
- Must be able to sit, stand and walk during the work day.
- Must submit and pass drug testing upon hire.
- Computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
