Program Overview

With 14 outpatient opioid treatment programs (OTPs) across Massachusetts and Rhode Island, we break down barriers to care and support long‑term recovery. Role Overview

The Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care under the supervision of the Medical Director and may also be directed by the Nurse Supervisor. The role includes evaluating and monitoring patient treatment as part of a healthcare team, prescribing medication as allowed by state regulation, and collaborating with the team to ensure quality and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Provide initial and annual history and physical evaluation, assess eligibility for treatment, evaluate patients’ history of dependence on opioids.
  • Order appropriate laboratory studies, review laboratory results, and provide necessary education, referral, or follow‑up services to patients.
  • Monitor treatment plans of high‑risk patients.
  • Prescribe medication for substance abuse treatment as allowed by state regulation.
  • Consult and collaborate with the Medical Director to plan and implement care according to Nurse Practitioner Guidelines.
  • Report and document significant patient issues and adverse events.
  • Communicate pertinent information to appropriate team members.
  • Collaborate with the Nurse Supervisor to optimize quality and efficiency.
  • Ensure program and employees’ transactions comply with all laws and clinic policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Compensation

Compensation varies based on location, skill set, and experience. The range for Springfield CTC is $55–$65 per hour.

Education & Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a practicing nurse practitioner preferred.
  • Prior experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings (outpatient, residential, or correctional) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Medication‑Assisted Treatment (MAT), including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
  • Familiarity with state regulatory standards (e.g., 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, Joint Commission standards).
  • No history of alcohol or drug misuse for a period of three years before employment.
Licenses/Certifications
  • Board Certified Nurse Practitioner.
  • Licensed to practice in Massachusetts.
  • DEA license.
