Healogics is the largest provider of advanced wound care services in the United States, treating more than 300,000 chronic wound patients annually across over 600 sites. With an aging society, obesity and diabetes on the rise, and an uptick in surgical procedures, the number of patients with non-healing wounds that would benefit from expert care is dramatically increasing. The company is working to provide differentiated, quality outcomes to as many patients as possible through our outpatient clinic partnerships.
The Program Director or Program Manager is responsible for the management and strategic growth of the Wound Care Program for the assigned area of responsibility. This position provides complete oversight of the Wound Care Center, including day-to-day operations, staff management, financial management, quality/performance improvement, and community education. The role also maintains collaborative and consultative client relationships within and outside the hospital organization and fosters effective working relationships between Healogics and the hospital.
All Healogics employees must perform their job responsibilities according to Healogics policies, hospital policies, accrediting organizations, federal and state regulation, and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines, as applicable.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities- Manages the Center’s Operations (20%):
Oversees the day-to-day management of outpatient clinic(s) and other wound continuum programs, as applicable. Continuously assesses clinic flows, processes and procedures; identifies areas for improvement; develops and implements best practices to improve outcomes using company resources. Ensures availability of adequate resources, supplies, equipment and services; facilitates information flow and effective communication; prioritizes responsibilities and directs the work of clinical and non-clinical staff.
Collaborates with other health care providers and the Medical Director regarding clinic and patient needs. Manages direct reports in conjunction with HR, including interviewing, hiring, motivating, coaching, performance expectations and reviews. - Performs Financial Management (10%):
Manages and coordinates all aspects of the revenue cycle for Healogics and the hospital partner as appropriate. Stays current with reimbursement changes and provides updates and education to physicians and staff. Reviews key financial reports, identifies trends and develops plans to ensure fiscal responsibility. Tracks and reports ancillary revenues and manages costs through utilization of labor and supply. Works with the Healogics support team to complete financial reviews and presents results to hospital leadership. - Manages Community Education/Marketing functions (40%):
Works with the hospital and Healogics marketing departments to establish marketing plans and, with hospital physician liaison, plan, coordinate and execute activities to increase patient referrals. Builds key referral source relationships and maintains an ongoing list of Physician Practices within a given radius. Visits physician practices to raise awareness of the Wound Care Center program, documents visits in the Healogics CRM system, and communicates goals and referral development information to executive sponsors as needed. - Manages Quality/Performance Improvement (10%):
Implements and manages a continuous Wound Care Center Performance Improvement Program and aligns it with the partner hospital’s PIP. Participates in hospital committees and ensures accurate documentation in patient records and outcomes databases. Monitors patient, referring physician and customer satisfaction. Ensures compliance training is completed and fosters an environment that escalates compliance concerns as appropriate. - Manages Relationships (15%):
