Job Overview

The Regional Organizing Manager (Western Mass) is a mid‑level management role within the organization, reporting to the Deputy Director. In coordination with the other Regional Organizing Manager, this role serves as a member of the Organizing Leadership Team (OLT). It will co‑lead the organizing team in developing field plans, assisting with local strategic organizing plans, and creating campaign plans for electoral and issue campaigns.

This is an in‑person role with some flexibility for virtual work.

Key Responsibilities Base building & Leadership Development (50%)
  • As a leader in the organization, you will
    • Supervise the Dwight Street Community Garden Coordinator and support solidarity‑economy organizing efforts.
    • Supervise and support organizers in base building, leadership development, local, regional, and statewide campaigns.
    • Boost communication between the organizing team statewide to ensure cohesion and collaboration among our team.
    • Mentor and cultivate the growth and professional development of organizers through dedicated side‑by‑side time with them in the field.
  • As a collaborating member of the Organizing Leadership Team, this role is responsible for
    • Leading assessments, feedback, and yearly staff evaluations for organizers through the N2N‑designed process.
    • Developing and implementing a strong, inclusive onboarding process.
    • Defining metrics and KPIs for the organizing team.
    • Developing and implementing training for organizers, members, and leaders.
    • Identifying external training opportunities and supporting organizers and members in attending.
Campaign Management (30%)
  • As a leader in the organization, you will
    • Co‑create strategic electoral and issue campaigns with members and staff.
    • Coach and advise organizers and members in running effective electoral campaign field operations.
    • Create detailed campaign plans with clear metrics and deliverables to ensure clarity for all staff members involved in the campaign.
  • As a collaborating member of the Organizing Leadership Team, this role is responsible for
    • Ensuring alignment on all campaigns and initiatives.
    • Ensuring all campaigns have a cohesive strategic vision and a unified base‑building arc.
    • Developing campaign‑specific training materials for staff and members.
Organizational Leadership & Administration (20%)
  • Interdepartmental leadership in this role looks like:
    • Steady leadership in setting and carrying out N2N’s organizing and campaign vision and methodology.
    • Working with the Leadership Team and Policy Director on developing and implementing a statewide strategic vision with short‑ and long‑term goals.
    • Practicing accountability and acknowledging growing responsibilities (in self and others).
    • Managing timesheets for direct reports; approving and monitoring time‑off requests.
    • Working with organizers to manage chapter budgets and supporting the creation of the annual organizational budget, focusing on organizing and program‑related expenses.
    • Regularly updating the finance team on organizing, campaign goals, strategies, and activities to support their preparation of grant proposals and reports.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Three or more years of supervisory experience in grassroots organizing, with a focus on statewide and local campaigns.
  • Proven track record of community organizing and base building within grassroots organizations, unions, and/or political campaigns.
  • Demonstrated experience developing an effective field program (door‑to‑door canvassing, phone banking, and community events) to advance organizing and campaign goals, including:
    • Developing, implementing, and evaluating field plans alongside a team of organizers and volunteers.
