Our client is seeking a highly skilled CNC Lathe Machinist with strong experience in 5‑axis CNC machining. This role requires the ability to independently set up, operate, and adjust CNC machines while producing high‑precision components. The ideal candidate has a solid background with 3‑, 4‑, and 5‑axis lathes, excellent blueprint reading skills, and experience in a production environment, preferably aerospace.
This is a hands‑on role for a machinist who values accuracy, craftsmanship, and problem‑solving. Candidates must be able to work 2nd shift after completing training on 1st shift.
Work Schedule: 3:00PM–11:00PM (2nd Shift) | Training on 1st Shift Required
Machine Setup & Operation- Set up and operate 3‑, 4‑, and 5‑axis CNC lathe machines.
- Adjust tooling, offsets, feeds, and speeds to optimize performance.
- Troubleshoot machine, controller, and process issues independently.
- Complete first‑piece and in‑process inspections.
- Ensure all machined parts meet required tolerances and quality standards.
- Perform inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, and other precision tools.
- Maintain productivity with minimal supervision.
- Monitor tooling inventory and request replacements as needed.
- Select proper tools, inserts, and cutting parameters for materials and geometries.
- Lift up to 70 lbs. during machine loading or material handling.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S standards.
- Perform routine machine care and basic preventative maintenance.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to lift 70 lbs. and work 2nd shift.
- 8–10 years of CNC lathe machining experience.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints.
- Proficiency with precision inspection tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot machine issues independently.
- Strong background in 3‑, 4‑, and 5‑axis CNC lathe setup and operation.
- Aerospace machining experience.
- Experience with tight‑tolerance, high‑precision components.
