Job SummaryThe Assistant Senior Director of Adult Residential Substance Use Services provides program-wide leadership, oversight and support to ensure high-quality residential substance use treatment services. This role assists in supervising Program Directors, Clinical Supervisors, and designated staff while implementing evidence-based, trauma-informed, person-centered and culturally responsive clinical and residential practices. The Assistant Senior Director ensures all programmatic and clinical activities are delivered in accordance with regulatory standards, agency expectations and best practices in behavioral health and substance use treatment.
The Assistant Senior Director works within the Residential Rehabilitation Services (RRS) model, promoting open communication, accountability, and collaboration among staff and residents. This role supports the Senior Director in administrative oversight, clinical development, crisis management, personnel training and program consistency across sites. The Assistant Senior Director may also deliver direct services as required to support continuity of care.
- To provide program-wide oversight for designated residential substance use programs under the direction of the Senior Director.
- To provide individual and/or administrative supervision to program leaders
- To provide leadership and guidance to programs leaders with the support of the Senior Director or VP of BHRS
- To oversee staff development, training, performance improvement and program planning.
- To meet quality benchmarks for quality service delivery (i.e. Logic model goals and COA chart reviews, monthly clinical audits)
- To support development and implementation of quality assurance processes.
- To oversee intake workflow with the intake team
- Responsible for ensuring quality and quantity of services delivered throughout adult residential substance use programs.
Participates and supports program leaders in hiring, onboarding, evaluations and disciplinary processes in collaboration with the Senior Director. - Ensures adherence to treatment philosophy consistent with trauma informed, person centered and culturally responsive practices.
- Evaluates program services and makes recommendations for improvement to the Senior Director.
- Promotes empowerment, peer support and individual served involvement in treatment activities.
- Maintains strong therapeutic rapport with individuals served
- Compiles statistical data and prepares required reports.
- Assists in proposal development for new program components.
- Implements job functions as required both on and off site as needs arise.
- Maintains required job-related record keeping.
- Monitors effectiveness in implementing job functions and program responsibilities.
- Assists with oversight, written procedures, program monitoring and evaluation.
- Maintains positive relations with funders, including managing licenses, certificates and contract renewals.
- Acts as an inter-agency liaison to support collaborative care.
- Responds effectively to change and supports staff through shifting program needs.
- Supports staff in managing high-risk, complex and crisis situations.
