Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, is looking for an ED Technician to join our team in Springfield, MA.
Responsibilities- Direct patient care: hygiene, skin care, mobility, transfers and monitoring.
- Multiskilled to meet the needs of the unit in performing duties relative to all phlebotomy, technical skills, assisting in procedures and EKGs.
- Manage equipment in conjunction with unit leadership and perform or assist in all procedures on unit as an integral team member.
- Assist in laceration repair, simple procedures and patient prep for exams.
- Maintain room stocking in the department.
- Maintain lab area and all associated competencies for POC testing, phlebotomy and uphold regulatory requirements to maintain POC testing ability.
- Uphold department goals of patient care by maximizing throughput and expediting care in this emergency department setting.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Direct patient care experience 1‑3 years
- Preferred
Work Experience:
EMT, ED/Urgent care experience or relative experience through the military medical units (Medic/Coreman training) - CPR – American Heart Association BLS
- Phlebotomy certification or practical experience
