Daly 6B is a Medical Intermediate Care Unit that is half medical-tele and half medical step-down.
Unit Size/Beds: 42 beds 21 medical & 21 Intermediate care
Expected Ratios:
Intermediate care 1:3, Medical - 1:6
Cases seen: PNA, COPD exacerbation, DKA, HHS, ETOH withdrawal, GIB, Sepsis, PE, UTI, Respiratory failure
Years of Exp preferred: 1-2 years
Certifications required: ACLS, BLS

Floating to other units can happen at times, RN s work on both sides of the floor (med-tele & IMC), must have experience with trachs, vents, high-flow NC, Cardiac drips, BiPaP, & telemetry
