Part time

Rotating Shift

Performs various duties in transporting patients and supplies to various patient testing areas of the medical center assigned through the EPIC system.

• Transports patients to and from patient areas and various diagnostic and treatment centers in a safe, dignified, and efficient manner. Patients are transported by bed, stretcher, or wheelchair.
• Answer pages on beeper or Rover device.
• Complete transport request steps before, during, and after transport in the EPIC system.
• Transport medication during specific patient transports.
• Assist with transferring patients using proper body mechanics and safe lift equipment.
• When assigned, transport supplies and materials from one department to another.
• Maintain the cleanliness of transport equipment such as wheelchairs and stretchers.
• Monitor the number and placement of transport wheelchairs, stretchers and oxygen cylinders.
• Complete yearly competency form.

• Some minor physical inconvenience or discomfort present in the workplace. Moderate noise, disagreeable odors, or occasional exposure to minor injury or other occupational hazard requiring precautions.
• Requires prolonged standing, walking, and constant physical movements on a routine basis.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. individually. Work requires the ability to push and pull objects over 300 pounds with assistance.
• May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at times such as masks, eye protection, ear protection, gloves and gowns.

• Must be able to read, write, and comprehend basic written instructions in English.
• Must be able to comprehend verbal instructions and speak/reply in English.
• Must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Requires contact with patients, visitors and staff, which involves good interpersonal and customer service skills.

$17.00 - $20.95 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under FLSA will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may vary within the stated range based on location.
