Medical Receptionist - GI Department

Description: You would be responsible for playing a key front‑office role in a high‑volume specialty practice, ensuring a seamless and professional experience for every patient. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, collecting copays, coordinating referrals and authorizations, and managing patient check‑in/check‑out. Also supports the clinical team with chart preparation, phone communication, and accurate documentation. Ideal for someone who is organized, personable, and thrives in a fast‑paced environment focused on digestive health and patient‑centered care.

• Greets and communicates with patients via phone or in person in a courteous and professional manner identifying themselves and their department.
• Answers telephones in a timely, courteous, and professional manner utilizing appropriate scripting.
• Processes calls to ensure patients are transferred to the appropriate staff member/provider in a timely manner.
• Schedules patient appointments based on department protocols in order to maximize provider productivity.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with in a medical office or billing department preferred. Knowledge of patient billing and medical terminology preferred
• Excellent keyboard skills. Requires proficiency in a Windows based computer environment and Microsoft Office products. Accuracy and dependability required.

Pay Range: $17.00 - $22.90

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
