Medical Receptionist – Pediatrics – Springfield

What You Will Do
  • Greets and communicates with patients via phone or in person in a courteous and professional manner, identifying themselves and the department.
  • Answers telephones in a timely, courteous, and professional manner using appropriate scripting.
  • Verifies insurance coverage eligibility with third‑party payers.
  • Processes calls to ensure patients are transferred to the appropriate staff member or provider in a timely manner.
  • Schedules patient appointments based on department protocols to maximize provider productivity.
  • Accurately registers patients, obtaining required identification, address, phone numbers, PCP, insurance, co‑pay, and other pertinent information.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with in a medical office or billing department preferred; knowledge of patient billing and medical terminology preferred.
  • Excellent keyboard skills and proficiency in a Windows‑based computer environment and Microsoft Office products. Accuracy and dependability required.
