Patient Care Technician, Full Time, 36 Hours, Days R38894

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, is seeking a full‑time Patient Care Technician to join the General Surgery team in Springfield, MA.

Schedule

Full‑time, 36 hours per week;
Day shift: 7:00 am – 7:30 pm; rotating holidays (2–3 per year).

Scope of Practice

Under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will provide direct patient care (hygiene, mobility, vital signs) and perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKG, specimen collection, point‑of‑care testing, patient transport, equipment management, and emergency response support.

Qualifications

Education: GED or HiSET required.

Certifications: BLS/CPR via American Heart Association.

Experience: Multiple career‑ladder levels:

  • Level I: PCT or CNA training preferred.
  • Level II: High school diploma/GED; at least one year of patient‑care experience; BLS required.
  • Level III: 3+ years of patient‑care experience or at least one year as a Level II PCT at Baystate.
  • Level IV: 4+ years of acute or specialty‑specific experience or at least one year as a Level III PCT at Baystate.
