Overview
Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, and home to Baystate Medical Center (BMC), is looking for a full-time Patient Care Technician to join our Medical/Neuro ICU team in Springfield, MA.
SCHEDULE:
- Full-time, 36 hours a week
- 7pm-7am, 3 days a week
- Every other weekend, every other holiday
- Shift differential for 3rd shift & weekends
- Under the supervision of an RN, assist with direct patient care, including hygiene, mobility, and vital sign monitoring.
- Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection, and Point of Care testing.
- Assist with procedures, patient transport, equipment management, and support emergency response protocols.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and a commitment to patient safety are essential.

Career ladder: This position is part of a career ladder and hiring level determined by Recruitment.
- Level I: PCT training or CNA training preferred; BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association required
- Level II: High School diploma or GED; at least one year of patient care experience; BLS CPR Certification required
- Level III: High School diploma or GED; three or more years of patient care experience (or at least one year as Level II PCT at Baystate Health); BLS CPR Certification required
- Level IV: High School Diploma or GED; 4+ years of acute or specialty care setting experience (or at least one year as Level III PCT at Baystate Health); BLS CPR Certification required

Basic Cardiac Life Support – American Heart Association;
Certified Nurse Aide (as applicable)
