Minimum Requirements
- High School diploma/G.E.D.
- Graduated from an Accredited Medical Assistant Program.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, patients, representatives of outside agencies, and the general public.

- Demonstrate proficiency in the assessment and delivery of all services to a diverse population
- Adult, Infant, and Child C.P.R. certification (BLS)
- Candidate must have and maintain Medical Assistant Certification
- Work Hours include M-F 8:30-6 with voluntary weekend coverage of Urgent Care Clinic and are subject to change
- Patient Prepping:
- In accordance with established procedures, take and record vital signs, including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, for all visits.
- Perform tests, i.e., EKG, vision and audio screening, and oxygen saturation as requested.
- Prepare the exam room and assist with the exam as needed
- If bilingual, aid staff in interpretation during visits and phone contact as needed
- Perform other duties deemed necessary by the Nurse Manager, DON, or CNO
- Oversee the provider's schedule and management of patient flow
- Maintenance of Lab/Work Area:
- Maintain confidentiality of all health center information
- Schedule patient appointments and follow-up
- Comply with HIPAA regulations
- Keep work areas, exam rooms, and lab clean and orderly
- Maintain Universal Precautions at all times and follow protocols related to blood/body fluid spills
- Order lab and clinic supplies as needed
- Inspect supplies in exam rooms and the supply closet minimally every quarter and document in log books
- Laboratory/Clinical Assistance:
- Review the order sheet
- Administer vaccines as directed by the Provider
- Draw, perform, and/or collect all lab specimens, ensuring specimen integrity
- Perform urinalysis, hCG, strep testing, finger stick blood glucose, hgb, and lead testing
- Complete the correct lab requisition according to the insurance/grant
- Record completed lab work in lab logs daily
- Autoclave and record weekly spore count
- ACO:
- Assist with QI projects to improve and maintain quality measures for HRSA, UDS, NCC, ACO, and PCMH.
- Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in a busy outpatient clinic environment with direct patient contact.
- Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Involves the use of computers, phones, and other standard medical office equipment.
- Must be able to respond quickly in urgent or emergent situations.
Salary ranges from $19 - $25.53
