Job Overview

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, and home to Baystate Medical Center (BMC), is looking for a part‑time Patient Care Technician to join our Perianesthesia team in Springfield, MA.

• Part‑time, 20 hours a week
• 2 days a week, 7:00 am–5:30 pm
• No holidays

Minimum – Midpoint – Maximum: $16.68 – $19.72 – $23.65

Baystate Health Patient Care Technicians (PCT) play a hands‑on role in delivering compassionate, high‑quality care alongside our nursing team. Under the supervision of an RN, you will assist with direct patient care, including hygiene, mobility, and vital sign monitoring.

PCTs perform a range of clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection, and point‑of‑care testing. This role also includes assisting with procedures, patient transport, equipment management, and supporting emergency response protocols.

Strong communication, teamwork, and a commitment to patient safety are essential.

• Level I: PCT training or CNA training, preferred; BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association, required.
• Level II: High School diploma or GED; at least one year of patient care experience of any type; BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association, required.
• Level III: High School diploma or GED; three or more years of patient care experience, or at least one year as a Level II PCT at Baystate Health; BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association, required.
• Level IV: High School diploma or GED; four or more years of acute or specialty‑specific care experience, or at least one year as a Level III PCT at Baystate Health; BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association, required.
