Senior Accountant:

Position Summary
The Senior Accountant will support the financial management and reporting functions of the organization. This role will work closely with leadership and the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, and efficient financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules

  • Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes

  • Manage general ledger activity and account reconciliations

  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes

  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and regulatory requirements

  • Assist with annual audits and preparation of audit schedules

  • Monitor grant and program spending to ensure proper allocation of funds

  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting

  • Collaborate with leadership to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 5+ years of accounting experience (nonprofit experience preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting practices

  • Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and audits

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems

  • CPA or progress toward certification is a plus

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
