Accounting Manager

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Springfield, Massachusetts. This role focuses on overseeing grant-related accounting activities, ensuring compliance, and preparing detailed financial reports. As a long-term contract position, it offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the organization's financial stability and growth.

Responsibilities:

- Manage all aspects of grant accounting, including tracking, reporting, and compliance.

- Prepare accurate and timely journal entries to maintain the integrity of financial records.

- Reconcile accounts on a regular basis to ensure consistency and accuracy.

- Develop audit schedules and provide necessary documentation for external audits.

- Analyze financial data to support decision-making and improve organizational performance.

- Create comprehensive financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

- Utilize Blackbaud software to streamline financial processes and reporting.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless month-end close procedures.

- Monitor and enforce compliance with financial regulations and grant requirements.

- Maintain and enhance proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. Requirements - Proven experience in managing grant accounting and reporting processes.

- Proficiency in preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.

- Strong knowledge of financial analysis and reporting practices.

- Familiarity with Blackbaud software is highly preferred.

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation and formulas.

- Ability to prepare audit schedules and provide necessary documentation.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Strong understanding of compliance requirements for grant funding.
