Project Engineer - Heavy Civil Construction (Connecticut)

The firm specializes in infrastructure projects including water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, water and sewer lines, and related utility work. The Project Engineer will be based primarily in Connecticut, with minimal travel required.

Key Responsibilities- Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating project activities to ensure timely execution.
- Support project managers in managing budgets, timelines, and documentation.
- Handle purchasing, requisitions, ROIs, and assist with project closeout.
- Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve technical issues.
- Monitor field progress and provide technical guidance to ensure quality and safety standards.
- Prepare and maintain project reports, RFIs, and change orders.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- A few years of experience preferred; mechanical background is ideal (field experience a plus but not required).
- Skilled in scheduling, budgeting, purchasing, requisitions, ROIs, safety, and closeout.
- AutoCAD experience preferred, but training can be provided for candidates willing to learn.
- Familiarity with water/wastewater treatment systems, pump stations, and utility construction.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
