JobOverview
We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer with proven expertise in the design of repairs to a wide array of structures. Experience in forensic engineering is a plus. The ideal candidate will assess structural integrity, diagnose failures, and develop innovative repair solutions for a variety of structures, including roofing, water intrusion, post‑fire damage, storm damage, foundation/settlement, product liability, and construction defects.
Key Responsibilities- Determine the origin and cause of structural failures, including roof damage, water intrusion, post‑fire damage, storm damage, building system failures, structural collapse, foundation/settlement, product liability, and construction defects.
- Survey losses and loss scenes at residential and commercial buildings.
- Conduct investigations to determine and document the scope of damage caused by a recent acute event.
- Investigate and assess damages, determining the origin of failure for insurers and litigation support.
- Analyze and document the failure analysis and causation of failures.
- Collaborate with other investigators to produce detailed reports outlining the cause and origin of losses and damages.
- Serve as an expert witness in court and/or in depositions.
- Document and maintain billable hours on a time and expense basis for failure analysis and forensic engineering projects for clients.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license in the resident state; multi‑state licensing and/or active NCEES Record is preferred.
- Expert witness testimony experience is a plus.
- Strong project management, analytical, and communication skills.
