Springfield College seeks applications for an Assistant Professor for Sport and Exercise Psychology within the Department of Exercise Science. This nine-month, program-track position within the School of Physical Education, Performance and Sport Leadership begins August 2026. Expertise in the field, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and a strong commitment to professional endeavors and service activities are expected.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a faculty member with expertise in Sport and Exercise Psychology to teach courses within the graduate online and on-ground Sport and Exercise Psychology programs. Course assignments will likely include applied sport and exercise psychology, capstone experience in sport and exercise psychology and internship supervision. Additional responsibilities may include serving on thesis committees, academic advising, and coordinating fieldwork placements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of an earned master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in sport and exercise psychology or closely related discipline.
  • Ability to deliver a wide variety of graduate coursework in sport and exercise psychology.
  • Prior experience teaching in higher education.
  • AASP Certified Mental Performance Consultant or registered mentor.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A record of involvement in the AASP, or other similar professional organizations.
  • Experience teaching graduate students in both face-to-face and online modalities.
  • Experience supervising interns in sport and exercise psychology.
