Special Instructions:
Applicants must be available for possible early morning (7:30 am), as well as occasional Saturday morning events as needed. We will work around your class schedule. Applicants should have morning availability for the spring semester between the hours of 7:30 am and 9:30 am at least 2 to 3 days per week. Applicants should also be available to work during the summer of 2026 (June through August).
Use of personal transportation to purchase supplies and travel to off-site training locations is required.
Dress code for this position is business casual. Jeans are permitted on Fridays.

The Missouri Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Missouri State University is seeking a Training Assistant. Under the direction of the Assistant Director, Training & Development, the Training Coordinator, and the Director of the Public Safety Training Center, the Missouri SBDC is responsible for all non-credit training offered through Missouri State University.
The Training Assistant will provide support to the Small Business Development Center and the Public Safety Training Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the coordination of noncredit training programs from set-up to external reporting functions. Responsibilities will include:
- Seminar room set-up
- Seminar tear-down
- Computer data entry into multiple software platforms learned on the job
- Printing and preparation of seminar materials
- Performing detailed paperwork and data entry functions
- Assistance in maintaining an ongoing inventory of training materials and supplies
- Purchasing seminar refreshments from local grocery store following proper procurement procedures
- Occasional set up of laptop computers, mobile projectors, and other equipment needed for remote training locations.
This position will also include working one Saturday per month for coordination and set-up of MSU’s indoor firing range. This will include cleaning the range and providing facility support working with retired law enforcement officers.
Note:
No handling of actual firearms will be required.
Excellent computer knowledge including Microsoft Office, great communication skills, detail orientation and accuracy are important, as well as the ability to support multiple people and projects simultaneously.
Required CertificationsThis position is for an undergraduate student and must have
summer 2026 availability.
The ability to operate basic office equipment, including, but not limited to a photocopier, binding machine, 3-hole punch, laptops, and projectors is important.
