Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Springfield, Massachusetts. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, excels in managing financial processes, and ensures accuracy in accounting records. You will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial data and supporting essential accounting functions.

Responsibilities:

- Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with precision.

- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records.

- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are complete and accurate.

- Prepare and post journal entries as part of routine accounting operations.

- Assist with month-end close procedures, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

- Utilize accounting software such as Net Suite, Oracle, Quick Books, and SAP to streamline processes.

- Conduct analysis to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

- Provide support for audits and other financial reporting requirements.

- Continuously review and improve accounting processes for efficiency. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable management.

- Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.

- Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting month-end close procedures.

- Familiarity with accounting software such as Net Suite, Oracle, Quick Books, and SAP.

- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong organizational and time management skills.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
