We are currently looking for a CDL Driver III to transport hazardous and non‑hazardous waste between Reworld facilities and client sites. Drivers will operate a variety of manual and automatic transmission vehicles including vacuum tankers, vacuum trucks, vans, and flatbeds.
Location:
Springfield, IL.
- Drive commercial vehicles to safely transport goods/materials over long distances while meeting scheduled appointments, in accordance with safety procedures and DOT regulations.
- Operate specialized pump equipment on vehicles to load, unload, or disperse cargo or materials.
- Perform pre‑ desapare— inspection and post‑trip inspections of vehicle and equipment.
- Complete administrative tasks and paperwork related to transportation of hazardous/non‑hazardous materials and vehicle/equipment maintenance (e.g., manifests, bills of lading, medical waste tracking, logs, delivery receipts, incident reports).
- Ensure vehicle placarding meets DOT regulations.
- Maintain clear communication with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers regarding instructions, delivery status, and any potential’instability, delays or similar issues.
- Walk the line of safety for fellow employees, clients and the public while operating company vehicles and performing any company activity.
- Interpret maps and follow written and verbal geographic directions.
- Mentor and train other drivers as needed.
- Complete other assigned duties as required.
- 21 years of age or older due to interstate travel in a commercial vehicle and federal regulations.
- Minimum 5 + years of commercial driving experience, including tanker experience.
- CDL Class Fork A with Tanker endorsement or site‑specific equipment required.
- Haz Mat endorsement is required.
- Ability to interpret maps and follow written and verbal geographic directions.
- Acceptable driving record.
- Floor day/Regional or Home Daily – the candidate must be able to work on the required schedule.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Abilityhuma to walk, stand, sit, and climb for long periods.
- Ability to grab, grip, reach, push, pull, lift/carry 50 lbs.
- Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces.
- Consistently work in various weather conditions.
- Visual and hearing acuity required.
