Purpose of Position

The Pilot provides a superior air transportation experience while maintaining an impeccable safety record. As the face of Net Jets, the Pilot combines technical expertise with exceptional passenger service, managing aircraft command, delivering in‑flight service, communicating with owners, and ensuring compliance with operations procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft from taxi, take‑off, and landing of each flight in accordance with FAA guidelines, OEM checklists, Net Jets Flight Operations Manual (FOM) or Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs). Greets owners/passengers pre‑flight, introduces them to the flight, updates itinerary and provides safety briefings.
  • Deliver in‑flight service including handling of alcohol and catering.
  • Load and stow all baggage on the aircraft as needed.
  • Handle and conduct flights for owners with pets and those who smoke.
  • Act as the final authority on the aircraft regarding all areas of operation, including compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory guidance.
  • Serve as a liaison for owners/passengers and Net Jets from arrival at the FBO until safe landing and departure from the final FBO.
  • Communicate maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to the company via the Aircraft Maintenance Control Center (MCC) controller on duty.
  • Properly complete any paperwork associated with maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned depending on the assignment.

Education

High School diploma.

Certifications and Licenses
  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license.
  • First‑Class Medical Certificate.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other (KSAOs)
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • 1,500 hours total flight time experience OR 1,250 hours with an appropriate university R‑ATP certificate OR 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification OR 1,000 hours with an appropriate university R‑ATP certificate.
  • 200 hours cross‑country (>50 nm) flight time.
  • 250 hours fixed‑wing PIC.
  • 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours with ≥45 night takeoffs and landings.
  • 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in‑flight, excludes simulator time).
  • ATP written completed prior to start of Indoctrination Training.
  • 50 hours fixed‑wing, multi‑engine time.
  • Current FAA First‑Class Medical certificate.
  • FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit.
  • Valid passport.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. and travel in and out of the country without restriction.
  • Ability to work varying hours including day and night, weekdays, weekends and holidays.
  • Extremely flexible and able to adjust to rapid changes.
  • Ability to manage rest to be prepared for flight duty at all times during the tour.
  • Duty may last up to fourteen hours per day for up to eight days and may span different time zones and extreme weather differences during a trip.
  • While on duty may be away from home for seven or more days and nights, staying in hotels.
  • Ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or U.S. Customs security badges.
  • Pass required Transportation Security Administration background screening and obtain airport authority and/or U.S. Customs security badges.
  • Valid U.S. passport with no travel restrictions.
