Overview
Malibu Jack’s Indoor Family Entertainment Center in Springfield, IL is seeking a Senior Attractions & Arcade Technician to lead hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of arcade games, rides, and attraction systems. This role is designed for a technician with strong electrical and mechanical skills who can accurately diagnose issues, prioritize repairs, and ensure equipment is fixed correctly the first time, while helping guide and support other technicians.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair electrical systems including AC/DC circuits, motors, sensors, relays, power supplies, and control components
- Perform mechanical repairs on attractions and arcade games
- Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement long-term solutions
- Prioritize repair work based on safety, downtime, and guest impact
- Lead and mentor a team of technicians, reviewing and verifying quality of all completed repairs
- Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and accurate repair documentation
- Ensure attractions operate safely and meet manufacturer and company standards
- Maintain parts inventory and recommend replacements or upgrades as needed
- Respond to urgent equipment issues and on-call emergencies as needed
- Strong electrical troubleshooting experience
- Solid mechanical repair background
- Proven ability to diagnose problems rather than replace parts blindly
- Experience with industrial equipment, amusement rides, arcade systems, or similar machinery
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and service manuals
- Comfortable working independently, making technical decisions, and performing hands-on repairs
- Industrial or manufacturing maintenance background
- Automation, controls, or HVAC experience
- Previous senior or lead technician experience
- Experience working in high-uptime environments
- Experience with ride control systems, laser tag systems, or arcade game electronics a plus
- Ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, and lift equipment
- Comfortable working in an active guest-facing environment
