To assist in a first line management capacity, administering and authorizing company policies and procedures. This position reports directly to the Store Manager and is responsible for overall store operations and all employees. Provides great customer service and satisfaction.
Essential Functions- Provide customers with outstanding service through friendly, quick and accurate assistance.
- Responsible for Store Hardlines Departments, endcaps, tables, and the store schedules.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of store staff, recommend measures to improve performance and increase efficiency.
- Recommend or initiate personnel actions such as hiring, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
- Train and coach new and current employees to the store standards.
- Assist in planning, directing and coordinating safety and loss prevention programs.
- Assist in the analysis of financial impacts of risk on the Company by managing inventory and implementing appropriate techniques to minimize shrink.
- Perform basic job functions such as email, bookkeeping, merchandising, scanning, price changes, and operating a register. Other functions include operating a pallet jack and tow motor, setting ads, checking in freight, in-store pickup, managing utilization of The Outfitter, and registration and production financing.
- Confer with Management to identify, plan, and develop methods and procedures to obtain greater profit and efficiency in our business.
- Prepare and submit various management reports and employee work schedules.
- Review ads, circulars, and bulletins to keep current on store price changes.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Weightlifting capability up to and including 80 lbs.
- Required on-line Job Training available on our in-house website, The Outfitter, along with reviewing and updating employee's training needs.
- Review and report merchandise overages and outages to the buying staff and Regional Director.
- Ensures the repair shop is running effectively.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to any of the Farm & Home locations.
- Completes special projects directed by the Store Manager.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned throughout the store at any given time to meet the needs of the business.
- Ideal candidate must have at least 3-5 year’s retail experience.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop and train store personnel.
- Must have strong customer service, sales and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude with a passion for collaborating with Team Members that want to grow.
This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds occasionally engaging in assisted lifting over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Annual Wage: $44,000 - $47,000
