Position: (USA) Meat Lead

Overview

Position Summary... As a Meat Department Lead you will drive sales in your area and supervise your team of hourly associates to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will model expertise in Meat and work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Be a Team Leader — Supervise the team within the meat department to deliver on the business plan and contribute to the overall success of the club by communicating the department goals, executing company programs, adhering to policies, and advocating for the member, the associate, and the company. Work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club meets member expectations.
  • Be an Expert — Maintain in-depth knowledge of business on the floor, backroom operations, product updates and specifications; ensure the meat department meets quality, inventory, production, equipment usage, safety, sanitation, and compliance standards. Share knowledge and prioritize training so the team understands item specifications and uses approved equipment for high-volume products; engage with members and help them select the right protein.
  • Be a Techie — Leverage digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement. Use handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality; adopt new tools and encourage others to use them.
  • Be an Owner — Drive business results with a commitment to operational excellence; maintain a neat, clean, and safe work area; use digital tools for forecasting, planning, and production; manage inventory and ordering; ensure appropriate staffing and compliance with audit standards; keep meat and seafood equipment and storage systems in good working order and display merchandise per layout plan.
  • Be a Talent Ambassador — Teach and train the team, identify development needs, and promote high-quality products to members. Encourage career growth, source talent internally and externally, and collaborate with managers, coworkers, customers, and partners to meet business needs. Develop and implement processes to improve performance and compliance with policies and ethics; support the Open Door Policy and assist management with ethical issues.
  • Lead teams by coordinating work, communicating customer needs and business priorities, and providing guidance to ensure timely, high-quality results. Model adaptability to change and new challenges; foster a culture of respect and belonging.
