SCHEELS is a leader in the sporting goods industry. The Firearms Sales Associate is responsible for actively seeking out customers and providing world‑class customer service.

• Ensure all paperwork for firearm sales including form 4473, licensing, and background checks are completed accurately and thoroughly
• Consistently demonstrate proper firearm safety and handling
• Evaluate and appraise firearms for resale
• Exercise good judgement when interacting with customers when shopping for firearms
• Have a well‑rounded knowledge of all facets of the firearm industry including ammunition, reloading, and optics
• Follow all company policies and procedures
• Legally own a firearm
• Stop a straw purchase
• Greet all customers on the sales floor with courtesy and a smile
• Grow personal sales by hitting minimum goals and following Scheels professional salesmanship standards
• Promote the Scheels Visa card and be able to clearly explain all benefits
• Engage in conversation with customers and assist them in making buying decisions
• Demonstrate a passion for products in our store
• Attend Scheels product training and all store meetings
• Maintain a professional appearance on the sales floor
• Assist in all other assigned duties
• Perform basic math; compute rate, ratio, and percent
• Read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
• Effectively present information in a one‑on‑one and small group situation to customers and other employees
• Demonstrate strong communication, organization, attention to detail and problem solving skills
• Help with freight/stocking when needed
• Demonstrate product usage within shop and retrieve product from heights greater than 6 ft.
• Have a valid FOID card

• Approach daily tasks, projects and follow‑up communication with energy and sense of urgency

• Arrive to work and meetings 10 minutes early
• Consistent eagerness to listen, learn, apply knowledge and accept critical feedback

• Ability to apply concepts of basic math, grammar, punctuation and spelling
• Meets Scheels dress and grooming expectations in support of professional, clean and welcoming environment for customers, co‑workers and business partners
